Phase 1

The first phase of obtaining time with RATIR is to submit a proposal to the OAN CATT (Comisión de Asignación de Tiempo de Telescopio).

The CATT publishes calls for proposals in the middle of September (for the semester from January to June) and the middle of March (for the semester from July to December). The deadlines are typically the middle of October (for the semester from January to June) and the middle of April (for the semester from January to June). The results typically published a month after the deadline. Proposals should be submitted in PDF using the CATT LaTeX form.

Outside of the call for proposals, the CATT will also consider requests to observe targets of opportunity and, in exceptional cases, may emit extraordinary calls for proposals.

For more information, see the CATT web site or contact Dr. Sergey Zharikov, the Secretary of the CATT.

Once a proposal has been awarded time by the CATT, it should proceed to Phase 2.
